Antibiotic resistance is developing at an alarming rate, while the number of new antibiotics in the pipeline has slowed to a trickle. Drugs with new mechanisms of action are required urgently. This presentation focuses on our approach to develop antibacterial drugs that target bacterial virulence rather than viability. Our targets are the DSB enzymes that are required for the correct folding and function of multiple bacterial virulence factors.
