Samuel D Banister
Dr Samuel Banister is a Team Leader in Medicinal Chemistry with The Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics, at the Brain and Mind Centre and a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Chemistry at The University of Sydney. His research interests include the development of cannabinoids and related natural product derivatives for the treatment of epilepsy, affective disorders, and pain. He has published more than 20 peer-reviewed scientific papers describing the chemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology of cannabinoids in leading academic journals including the New England Journal of Medicine and Cell, and recently published an invited review of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol for ACS Chemical Neuroscience
