Shane Wilkinson
Shane Wilkinson completed his bachelor of Science with First Class Honours at the University of Sydney in 2006 before completing his PhD in 2010 under the supervision of associate professor Mal McLeod at the Australian National University (ANU). His PhD work encapsulated glycosynthase, carbohydrate and steroid methodology to advance the field of sports drug doping detection. For the past three years, Shane has been devoted to the field of medicinal chemistry as a postdoctoral researcher in the Kassiou Group at Sydney University. His current work involves the design and synthesis of small molecules to target CNS receptors such as the P2X7, cannabinoid, oxytocin and TSPO receptors.
